Owen and I started dating shortly after prom in 2021. Most of our family and friends were told we were just another "summer fling," especially with us heading off to different colleges a few months later. Turns out, they were wrong, and we're happy to let them remind us of it every now and then! As summer came to an end, so did any doubt that we wanted to keep choosing each other. For the next four years, we made long distance work. It wasn't always easy, but every countdown, every road trip, and every weekend made us appreciate our time together even more. Through every season, God has been faithful, and our relationship has grown stronger because of it! Our story isn't perfect, but it's been full of grace, laughter, and more joy than we could have imagined! We are so thankful for the people who've loved and supported us along the way, and we're beyond excited for this next chapter!

If you know me, you know I don't do surprises!! In true Type A fashion, I had already been browsing wedding venues because I just knew an engagement was somewhere on the horizon... I just didn't realize how soon. What I didn't know was that Owen had already planned to propose at a beautiful spot overlooking the lake. Ironically, when I told him it was my dream venue and insisted he come tour it with me, I unknowingly made his plan a whole lot easier! On Friday, July 10, my family had planned a nice dinner to celebrate my sweet sister's 21st birthday. As I was getting ready, getting engaged never even crossed my mind. While we were touring the venue, Owen led me out to the overlook, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes! Just when I thought the day couldn't get any sweeter, we got back home to find all of our closest family and friends waiting to celebrate with us. We spent the entire weekend together at the lake, soaking in every moment. It was truly one of the happiest weekends of our lives. We feel so incredibly blessed by the love that surrounds us, and we can't wait to celebrate with all of you... and finally become husband and wife!
